THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ASTROPHILE stumbled leaving the stalls.
b) AUTOGRAPH jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) TIGER'S CAPTAIN was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) ECHOES OF WAR hung out from the 400m.
c) ASTROPHILE hung in from the 400m.
d) Work Rider S Mosia reported GENNADY took an awkward stride in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinarian was requested to examine.
e) In view of the performance of ASTROPHILE, (distance 5,80 lengths, betting 56/100), the Veterinarian was requested to examine.
f) Work Rider C Mabaya reported that he felt something amiss with TIGER'S CAPTAIN in running.
The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
g) Work Rider X C Machaieie (WILLOW CHARM) appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race with sufficient determination and vigour so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards.
h) Work Rider S Mosia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of GENNADY, misused his crop by striking this colt more than ten times (11).
Work Rider S Mosia signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race.
Suspension date: 16 August 2026.
i) In view of the Veterinarian's report concerning TIGER'S CAPTAIN, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer R Klaasen to be advised.
j) ECHOES OF WAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

WORK RIDER CHANGES:
None.
THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED:
a) GENNADY examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
b) ASTROPHILE fatigued; poor recovery.
c) TIGER'S CAPTAIN coughing post-race; bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension.
