The tongue tie on GREEN DIAMOND had to be replaced at the start. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after JET FORCE passed following a second test. b) Approaching the 1000m JET FORCE commenced to over race for a short distance, proving difficult to settle. c) Approaching the 1000m TENANGO had to check off the heels of JET FORCE, which was carried in by QUESTIONING, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. d) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of QUESTIONING, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to JET FORCE (G van Niekerk) and TENANGO (K de Melo) at the 800m. Jockey R Fourie signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 14 days (2.08.2026 - 15.08.2026 bdi). e) In view of the performance of MIA MOO (10.40 lengths and 66/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Trainer C Bass was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate TENANGO against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000. g) BUFFALO STORM CODY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter was advised (DZ). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) TAXI TO THE MOON raced in the Operator's colours (Stewards' permission). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) MIA MOO : Not striding out right hind and coughing. b) TENANGO : Abrasion right front and coughing. SCRATCHINGS : a) Nil. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
