THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) WISE COUNSEL over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. As a result of this, the saddle slipped forward in running, placing Jockey C Zackey at a severe disadvantage, which resulted in him being unable to fully assist this filly out to the end of the race. c) In the concluding stages, BE MY FATE was carried out by CHARIKLO, which hung out badly from the 150m. Simultaneously, BOLD ACTION was carried in by PLAY WITH FIRE, which hung in from the 150m. As a consequence of this, BOLD ACTION and BE MY FATE came together and brushed. d) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that COCOMELON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine e) PLAY WITH FIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) COCOMELON coughing post-race. b) CHARIKLO scalp wound right hind. SCRATCHED: a) ARIEL'S JET abnormal blood count (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
