THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARILENA jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HAMMER BLOW and CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, TWENTYTWENTYVISION was buffeted between CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS, which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and ARILENA, which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) ARILENA shifted in away from the crop from the 200m. d) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine e) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck TWENTYTWENTYVISION more than two times on consecutive strides. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) RAINING RUBIES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H van der Westhuizen was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS not striding out right front; cut in the nostril. b) HAMMER BLOW abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) TAKING A RISK abnormal temperature (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
