THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL DAWN was stubborn loading. b) DISRUPTIVE was nervous in the stalls. c) FANTINE was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. d) AMANATTO was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h12) b) Permission was granted for SHOW OFF to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) RHYDIAN and TOKYO PRINCESS over raced in the early and middle stages. d) HOSPICES DE BEAUNE was hanging in from the 300m. e) EL ROMIACHI shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. f) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that SHOW OFF coughed post-race. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey C Zackey reported that HOSPICES DE BEAUNE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. h) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with AMANATTO. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. i) Trainer Z Oosthuizen was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate HOSPICES DE BEAUNE against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer Z Oosthuizen signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. j) BLAME IT ON ME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) AMANATTO - examined post-race. Not striding out left hind. b) SHOW OFF - examined post-race. Coughing. c) HOSPICES DE BEAUNE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. d) BEL CANTO DREAM - coughing. e) TOKYO PRINCESS - coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
