THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BACK FOR MORE stood awkwardly in the stalls. b) MOUNTAIN HIGH jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) BABETTE'S FEAST and POTENZA jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h31) b) Permission was granted for POTENZA to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) MOUNTAIN HIGH, which jumped slow, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. d) At the 400m, LANA VIEW had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of POTENZA, which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. e) Jockey R Fourie reported that BACK FOR MORE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this mare. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with POTENZA. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MOUNTAIN HIGH, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for fourteen (14) days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 01/08/2026 to 14/08/2026, both dates inclusive). MOUNTAIN HIGH may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. h) FLOWER FESTIVAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) BACK FOR MORE - examined post-race. Not striding out. b) POTENZA - examined post-race. Head injury. Left nostril bleed. c) BABETTE'S FEAST - mouth injury.
