THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHARLIE BUCKET was stubborn to load. b) BLIZZARDBOY lost 1 length. c) SASCHA'S DREAM and TROIS TROIS QUATRE lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) DANCING ON A CLOUD did not parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer W M Masawi was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) DANCING ON A CLOUD jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. c) QUEUE WING and MASTER BOMBER were carried out by SERPENTINE FIRE which rolled out entering the straight. d) In the concluding stages BLIZZARDBOY which was briefly baulked, was directed outwards to obtain a clear run. e) MASTER BOMBER hung in, in the concluding stages. f) Jockey G Lerena did not persevere with his riding on BUDDY BOY in the concluding stages and thereafter he reported that this gelding felt awkward in its action. In view of this, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of BLIZZARDBOY (6.95 lengths and 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. h) Apprentice Q Ngcobo (TROIS TROIS QUATRE) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. i) Apprentice D D Louw was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of QUEUE WING, he misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (11) in the race. Apprentice Louw signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800. j) Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within 2 days that the horse DOUBLE CAUSEWAY is a gelding. Assistant Trainer Gavin van Zyl, acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500. k) CHARLIE BUCKET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P P Kruyer was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Little was the rider of SERPENTINE FIRE (advised 02.08.2026/08h59). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) DOUBLE CAUSEWAY is a gelding (Gelded on the 15.04.2026). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) BUDDY BOY : Nothing obvious detected. b) BLIZZARDBOY : Returned post-race having cast the right front and the left hind shoes. SCRATCHINGS : a) Nil. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
