THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QILIN stood as the start was effected, losing three lengths. b) ROCK THE ROAD jumped slow, losing one length. c) ONE STEP and HURRICANE PAIGE were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h55) b) At the 100m, WINTER BLOSSOM, which raced green, shifted out away from OVER MY SHOULDER and was immediately straightened. Thereafter, WINTER BLOSSOM continued to hang out until the finish. c) Jockey G Behr (ONE STEP) accidentally dropped his crop leaving the 100m. Thereafter, Jockey G Behr reported that ONE STEP did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. d) The Stewards have adjourned to review Jockey A Fortune's (SABRE WING) riding in the concluding stages. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding QILIN, Trainer D McLachlan was advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) OVER MY SHOULDER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC) g) SABRE WING, the third-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised.
