THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, WORLD AT ONE dislodged Apprentice S Bungane, bolted the course in the reverse direction to the parade ring, was taken in hand, examined by the Veterinarian and withdrawn, causing a delay. During the delay, all horses were taken out of their stalls and reloaded. b) LEGAL DANCER and COPPER HEAD jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h46) b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that NOBLE SALUTE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this colt. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WORLD AT ONE, Trainer VH Marshall was advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) Jockey A Mgudlwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of ZANFAN MORIS he misused his crop by striking this gelding more than 10 times (11) in the race. Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800.00. e) Jockey G Behr was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on COPPER HEAD, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey G Behr signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. f) IT'SGOOD IT'SNICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
