THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS OF AJIAAL was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) GUTSY BABY and KILMONIVAIG jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h24) b) Permission was granted for JAPANESE GARDEN and KILMONIVAIG to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At the 800m, MIDNIGHT MUSIC had to be steadied to avoid running onto the heels of ICY LANCASTER, which was cramped and had to be eased when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and DAFFODIL DELIGHT, which was carried inwards by BASINGSTOKE, which shifted inwards. Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of BASINGSTOKE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MIDNIGHT MUSIC and ICY LANCASTER at the 800m. Jockey J Gates signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) d) Leaving the 150m, KILMONIVAIG had to be eased to avoid running onto the heels of ICY LANCASTER, which shifted inwards. Apprentice BA Makhubo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of ICY LANCASTER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to KILMONIVAIG leaving the 150m. Apprentice BA Makhubo signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 15/08/2026 to 21/08/2026, both dates inclusive). e) BASINGSTOKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised.
