THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LAGERTHA THE QUEEN was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start LAGERTHA THE QUEEN was brushed out by LORELEY'S ROCK, which was carried out by AMERICA FIRST which rolled out. c) At the 1300m PERIWINKLE, which commenced to over race for a short distance, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of LAGERTHA THE QUEEN. d) At the 100m Jockey M Thackeray (AMERICA FIRST) accidentally dropped his right-side rein which he regained shortly thereafter. e) Jockey C F Dicken reported that LORELEY'S ROCK took no interest in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) In view of the performance of TEARS OF THE SUN (3.60 lengths and 33/20 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) HAZEL GREEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
