The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE STEEL and MY BOY LOLLIPOP lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) TAM'S KNIGHT over raced in the early and middle stages. c) ZAGREB hung in from the 300m. d) At the 200m TAM'S KNIGHT and MVELELO came together and brushed. e) Approaching the 100m TOBACCONIST was directed to the inside of MVELELO to continue its run. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, TOBACCONIST was directed to the inside of BLUE STEEL to continue its run. f) Jockey K de Melo reported that PHUTULICIOUS made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of MAR DEL PLATA (10.90 lengths and 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. h) TAM'S KNIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill was advised (DZ).
