THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLIZZARD SNOW was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised to reschool this mare prior to her next engagement (GT). b) ESPINOZA jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, DANTE'S BOND was bumped in by ESPINOZA, which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence of this, TITAN OF THE TURF was carried in. c) KUDIKARAN changed stride continually in running. In view of this report, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of RICHARD THE FIRST, (distance 12,60 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinarian's report concerning RICHARD THE FIRST, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P P Vermeulen was advised. f) ESPINOZA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S M Naidoo was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KUDIKARAN was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 5 August 2026 at 10H12). b) AFRICAN PRINCE: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 55,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) KUDIKARAN not striding out behind. b) RICHARD THE FIRST coughing post-race; bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension. Trainer P P Vermeulen was advised (MB). c) DANTE'S BOND coughing post-race; scalp wound left hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
