THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRAISE DE LA REY was stubborn to load. b) PRINCESS TRIPPI lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 300m, Jockey N Patel (PRAISE DE LA REY) hesitated with his riding when close to the heels of HOP HOP SPINNEKOP. Thereafter PRAISE DE LA REY commenced to hang out. c) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of GOLD GOLD BABY, he misused his crop by striking this filly more than ten times (11) in the race. Jockey Little signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800. d) GOLD GOLD BABY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (DZ). e) PRAISE DE LA REY, placed 5th, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
