THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start, Jockey K de Melo expressed concern with PROMETTERE's action during the canter past. This gelding was examined by the Veterinarian and passed suitable to race. b) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h48) b) Shortly after the start, THREE TIGERS was bumped by MENTE ET MANU, which shifted out leaving the stalls. c) THREE TIGERS pulled hard in the early and middle stages. d) HANDSOME PRINCE raced wide on the turn and into the straight. e) MENTE ET MANU was hanging out from the 300m. f) In view of the performance of ABSOLUTELY YES, which tired quickly in the straight, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. g) VOORLOOPERTJIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
