THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) At approximately the 600m, SUNSET WARRIOR was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of ELUSIVE RED and on the inside of TRACKSUIT DAVE.
c) Jockey K de Melo (MATROOSBERG) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
Trainer S G Tarry is to be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of MATROOSBERG on return to stables.
d) Leaving the 200m, GALLIC VICTOR was carried out by BRAVE WAAM, which in turn was carried out by UBERMENSCH, which shifted out away from the crop.
Apprentice, B Marx-Jacobson (GALLIC VICTOR), in the presence of the National Riding Master and Trainer F P Habib, reviewed this incident and took no further action.
e) In view of the performance of TRACKSUIT DAVE, (distance 5,75 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinarian was requested to examine.
f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with FRERE JACQUES in running.
The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
g) Jockey C Habib reported that COMING IN HOT did not stride out freely in running.
The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
h) BRAVE WAAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MduP).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) ELUSIVE RED: Jockey G Lerena weighed out at 55,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared.
THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED:
a) MATROOSBERG examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
b) TRACKSUIT DAVE not striding out left hind.
c) FRERE JACQUES examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
d) COMING IN HOT not striding out right front.
e) UBERMENSCH coughing post-race.
SCRATCHED:
a) LAUGHING WILLIAM abnormal blood count (veterinary certificate received) (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). Suitable for reinstatement.
b) UNSOLVED RIDDLE urticaria (veterinary certificate received) (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
