THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on STAR IN MOTION was replaced at the start. b) READY FOR THE ROAD jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right-hand side of the front gates leaving the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. c) SLIVER OF SUNSHINE jumped slow, losing one length. d) RUN THE WORLD was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h23) b) STAR IN MOTION and MATT'S WARRIOR came together and bumped shortly after the start. c) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with STAR IN MOTION. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. d) RUN THE WORLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised.
