THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVAN MISTRESS was nervous in the stalls. b) HELIOTROPE was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one to two lengths. c) HOMING PIGEON jumped slow, losing one to two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for EPIKLEROS to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. b) HOMING PIGEON was steadied shortly after the start and taken in behind runners. c) BENEATH THE CLOUDS over raced in the early and middle stages. d) SILVAN MISTRESS raced wide on the turn and into the straight and thereafter, compounded in the straight. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) BENEATH THE CLOUDS shifted both ways away from the crop between the 350m and the 150m. f) ENCHANTING CHOICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) g) HELIOTROPE, the third-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
