THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARTEL QUEEN was stubborn to load. b) CALLIOPE was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) ENJOY THE RIDE hung out from the 350m. c) At the 300m TASK FORCE was bumped in by BON APPETITE which hung in, entering the straight. d) Jockey J Jacobs reported that he felt something amiss with CALLIOPE in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of TASK FORCE (7.20 lengths and 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Apprentice S E Sesingi (KA CHOW) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) Jockey J Jacobs was charged with a contravention of Rule 25.3.1 in that he failed to present his medical record book to the Clerk of Scales at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of his first engagement. Jockey Jacobs signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250. h) CAMOGIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised (MM). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Jockey J Jacobs (CALLIOPE) weighed out at 52.1kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
