THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INSIDE VOICE turned its head to one side as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing one length. b) NORTH POINT was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h50) b) Approaching the 200m, MAGICAL PLACE had to be checked away from the heels of ALL ABOUT AL, which shifted out without correction. Thereafter, approaching the 100m, MAGICAL PLACE had to be steadied when ALL ABOUT AL, which was held up behind UN BEL DI, was directed inwards and into clear running. Apprentice DD Louw was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of ALL ABOUT AL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MAGICAL PLACE approaching the 200m and at the 100m. Apprentice DD Louw signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days. (Dates to be advised). c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that NORTH POINT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performances of INSIDE VOICE and DREAMLAND, the Veterinarian was requested to examine these horses. e) OLIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (SC) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) Nil THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) INSIDE VOICE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) NORTH POINT - examined post-race. Coughing. c) DREAMLAND - examined post-race. Not striding out behind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
