THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 100m, ICONIC WINTER was carried in significantly by NKANDLA GOLD, which shifted in away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, on behalf of the second-placed horse, ICONIC WINTER, against the winner, NKANDLA GOLD, on the grounds of interference and intimidation from the 150m. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the race and hearing all the evidence put forward by the connections, was of the opinion that ICONIC WINTER would have finished in front of NKANDLA GOLD barring this incident and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges' result to read as follows: 1st 2 ICONIC WINTER A P Peter (*D Ramkhalawon) 2nd 8 NKANDLA GOLD B Webber (J R Syster) 3rd 10 KOTINOS R R Magner (C Zackey) 4th 6 TIME WILL TELL F Bronkhorst (K Strydom) 5th 4 PHALA MILLIONS B Webber (C Maujean) 6th 5 SUNSHINE DAY B Webber (*T Mayhew) c) Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson reported that he felt something amiss with ECHOES OF WAR in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine d) Jockey K de Melo reported that IRISH WILMA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) NKANDLA GOLD, placed second on objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Webber, acting on behalf of Trainer B Webber, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KOTINOS: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 55,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) ECHOES OF WAR not striding out left front. b) IRISH WILMA blowing post-race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
