THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 100m MIST IN MARYLAND was carried in marginally by AYZAL which shifted in away from the crop. c) Jockey K A Brewer (MIST IN MARYLAND) appeared before the Board and was advised against the manner in which he used his crop in his left hand. d) Jockey C Habib reported that QUEEN'S BOUNTY did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of AYZAL, he misused his crop by striking this filly more than ten times (11) in the race. Jockey C Little signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800. f) AYZAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Habib was the rider of QUEEN'S BOUNTY (advised 18.08.2026/08h50).
