THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) WHATASTAR over-raced without cover in the early stages. c) At the 800m THOUGHT CONTROL was briefly tightened on the inside of QHAWEKAZI, which rolled in slightly away from INNERBLOOM. d) Approaching the 600m QHAWEKAZI was carried out by LOU LOU which hung out for a short distance and rolled out. Thereafter, LOU LOU commenced to hang out in the concluding stages. In view of this, the Veterinarian was requested to examine LOU LOU. g) Jockeys S Veale (QHAWEKAZI) and C Maujean (EMERALD GREEN) reported that they felt something amiss in the running with their respective mounts. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and EMERALD GREEN is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer L W Goosen will be advised. e) THOUGHT CONTROL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
