THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOT THE WORD lost 1 length. b) FUTANO lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) BEACH PALACE trotted and failed to canter to the start. Trainer F Greyling was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in the future, it may be suspended. c) As the start was effected GOT THE WORD jumped out awkwardly leaving the starting stalls. d) MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON hung out from the 300m. e) BEACH PALACE hung in from the 200m. f) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia reported that he felt something with ARILENA in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) Apprentice D Ramkhalawon was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of FUTANO he misused his crop by striking this mare more than ten times (11). Apprentice D Ramkhalawon signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800. h) CAPPELLINO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead was advised (MM). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) LIONS EYE : Coughing. b) ARILENA : Nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHINGS : a) HEAVEN'S WILL : Not eating up (Trainer - 21.08.2026/08h57). Rule 53.5 applies. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
