THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RABDAN was restless in the stalls. b) BLUE LAVA and VIVA ASTERIX jumped outwards. c) TOMTOMTURNAROUND jumped inwards. d) FUTURE GOLD jumped slow, losing one length. e) FAIR FATE and IRISH LION made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h19) b) Shortly after the start, MAXIMUM EFFORT was bumped inwards by TOMTOMTURNAROUND and made contact with RABDAN, which shifted out away from BLUE LAVA. As a consequence, RABDAN was turned and had to be steadied, losing position and BLUE LAVA was squeezed out. c) BLUE LAVA raced wide on the turn and into the straight. d) Shortly before the finish, PEACE ON YOU was awkwardly placed on the inside of TEQUILA TANGO, which shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. e) Apprentice EJ Muller reported that TOMTOMTURNAROUND coughed post-race. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. f) VIVA ASTERIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised. (TJ) g) AFRICAN WILD DOG, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY CHANGES/OTHER: a) *EJ Muller rode TOMTOMTURNAROUND (advised 12h14 on 20260822) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) TOMTOMTURNAROUND - examined post-race.
