THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DIAMOND BARON, NOON DAY GUN, MEET THE KING and ANOTHER HERO were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h47) b) DIAMOND BARON over raced in the early stages. c) At the 300m, JET A ONE was steadied and directed outwards when unable to secure a clear run between LOVING PRAGUE (AUS) and DEVIL A SAINT, which shifted in marginally. d) Between the 250m and the 200m, LOVING PRAGUE (AUS) raced tight on the inside of DEVIL A SAINT. e) In the concluding stages, Jockey G Wright (JET A ONE) hesitated with his riding when awkwardly placed on the outside of DEVIL A SAINT, which shifted out slightly and on the inside of FORT YUKON, which rolled in marginally. A member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review with regard to this incident and the incident at the 300m and after reviewing the patrol film, took no further action. f) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with DIAMOND BARON. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey C Zackey reported that FORT YUKON choked up in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. h) UNITED FRONT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY CHANGES/OTHER: a) Nil THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) DIAMOND BARON - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) FORT YUKON - examined post-race. Blowing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
