THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ERMELO was stubborn to load. Trainer M L Roberts will be advised to reschool this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after MASTER JOSH passed following a second test. b) ERMELO was unruly behind the starting stalls during the loading process. Trainer M L Roberts will be advised to take the necessary action to improve this horse's tractability. c) Shortly after the start LOCK AND KEY and SOHO STAR came together and bumped. d) SOHO STAR hung in from the 350m. e) Jockey M Thackeray reported that INFINITY EDGE took no interest in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Jockey C F Dicken reported that MASTER JOSH changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of ERMELO (11.65 lengths and 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. h) SOHO STAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
