THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEART OF HARLEM (M Mjoka) and PRIDEOFFRANSCHHOEK (C Habib) were slow into stride. b) HAVE IT (J Sampson) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FUTURE LADY (W Kennedy) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between SUCCESSFUL RULER (D Schwarz) and JET CAT (G Lerena) which rolled in marginally. b) Jockeys S Khumalo (BLUE SPARK) and G Lerena (JET CAT) reported that their respective mounts changed stride continuously in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. c) Jockey J Sampson reported that he felt something amiss with HAVE IT in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Leaving the 300m, INVINCIBLE WARRIOR (L Hewitson) was bumped inwards by FUTURE LADY (W Kennedy) which took an awkward stride and shifted in sharply. Thereafter at the 200m, Jockey Kennedy briefly dropped his left side rein. e) INVINCIBLE WARRIOR (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (RH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DA ORANGE HORSE is a gelding as declared, incorrectly carded (gelded 23 November 2020). b) JET CAT raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 18 December 2020 at 08H54). c) ABOUT THE SWING raced unshod (declared 28 December 2020 at 08H01). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BLUE SPARK examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) JET CAT abnormal respiratory noise, choked up and blowing. c) HAVE IT examined post race, nothing obvious detected. d) UNPREDICTABLE abnormal respiratory noise.
