Trainer A C Greeff was advised to re-school this filly prior to its next engagement. E) STEPITUPBABY kicked the back gate in the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 500m, QUE COSAS (X Ndlovu) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between GREAT THUNDER (C Maujean) and CARMELA (G Cheyne) which rolled out and was immediately straightened. B) WHIFFLER'S JOY (L Bester) hung in from the 200m. C) Jockey A Domeyer (WHAT A FLIGHT) accidentally dropped his crop at the 150m. D) GOOD VIBES (M V'Rensburg) hung out in the concluding stages. E) Jockey C Maujean reported that GREAT THUNDER did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning GREAT THUNDER (C Maujean), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for an indefinite period. In terms of Rule 49.7, a veterinary certificate for GREAT THUNDER must be submitted to the Veterinary Department of the National Horseracing Authority, before it can be entered for a race. GREAT THUNDER must also gallop for the National Horse Racing Authority veterinary department after which, if found fit to race, will be sent for specimen collection for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. G) The second placed horse WITH OUR BLESSINGS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer J V A Strydom advised (LM).
