THE STARTER REPORTED
A) TIME STANDS STILL was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
B) STORYLAND was nervous in the stalls.
C) OH HEAVENLY was slow into stride.
D) STEP LIVELY was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this filly is withdrawn.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) TIME STANDS STILL (*J Mphanya) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be assisted by a handler. Trainer G D Smith was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future it may be suspended.
B) Jockey C Maujean reported that HECTOR HEATHCOTE did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to STEP LIVELY (X Ndlovu), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 02/01/2021 to 08/01/2021 both days included. STEP LIVELY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A C Greeff was advised.
D) The winner STEP LIVELY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
E) The second placed horse GOLDEN CHANCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
