THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BON VIVEUR (K de Melo) jumped outwards and thereafter was slow into stride. b) JACK AND GINGER (G Behr), SON OF SILK (J Smitsdorff) and STEREOTYPE (S Fortune) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, SON OF SILK (J Smitsdorff) which raced green had to be steadied and directed to the outside of RAIO (D Ashby) which rolled in. Jockey D Ashby appeared before the Board and was advised to react sooner when his mounts are shifting ground. b) At the 200m JACK AND GINGER (G Behr), which raced green, shifted out sharply and had to be straightened. c) BON VIVEUR (K de Melo) raced green. d) ALL ABOUT AL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (BM) e) CAPTAIN DIZZY, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised.
