THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KAMCHATKA (C Orffer) was restless in the stalls. b) GIMMETHATPEARL (JP van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) DIXIELAND BAND (*S Bungane) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regards to GIMMETHATPEARL (JP van der Merwe) in stall gate 3 and established that this filly had become restless as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing two lengths. The Stewards were satisfied that this filly had not been impeded and that any loss of ground had been as a result of her own behaviour and took no further action. In view of the report from the Starter regarding GIMMETHATPEARL (JP van der Merwe), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) DIXIELAND BAND (*S Bungane) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. c) Jockey C Little (ROYALS) briefly dropped his left-side rein shortly before the finish. d) RUSSIAN ROYAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
