THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) AVENIR (*L J Ferraris) over-raced in the early stages. b) Between the 400m and the 250m, FULL BLAST (A Arries) had to switch in and thereafter had to switch out, to obtain a clear run. c) SHAVOUT (L Hewitson) was hanging out from the 200m. d) Jockey A Marcus reported that he felt something amiss with SEA MASTER (5.40 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey W Agrella reported that PERFECT PETER (7.90 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Trainer G H van Zyl signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented PERFECT PETER in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this Race. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. g) FULL BLAST (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M Miller advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) AVENIR raced with an alumite bar shoe left front, alumites all round (advised 31.12.20/10h25). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
