THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OFFSIDES (R Munger) was slow losing one length. b) TRAVELING WILBURY (S Khumalo) jumped out leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice J R Syster was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse MODE more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice Syster signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (16), as well as Apprentice Syster's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. b) TRAVELING WILBURY (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WONDERFUL ROCK was ridden by Apprentice J Solomons who claimed 2,5kg allowance (declared 4 January 2021 at 09H56). b) OFFFSIDES was ridden by Jockey R Munger (declared 3 January 2021 at 09H21).
