THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LIVING WATERS (E Ngwane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, LORD WYLIE (D Dillon) and RUNNING FREELY (S Randolph) were carried out by SAIPAN (T Godden) which jumped awkwardly and rolled out. b) Jockey R Danielson (HIGHER PURPOSE) dropped his crop at the 200m. c) Jockey D Dillon signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse LORD WYLIE more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey D Dillon the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey D Dillon struck the horse LORD WYLIE, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey D Dillon used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. d) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse HERECOMESTHERAIN more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse HERECOMESTHERAIN, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Moodley used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. e) LORD WYLIE (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (DA). f) HERECOMESTHERAIN (S Moodley), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) RUNNING FREELY raced equipped with blinkers (advised 03.01.21/05h10). b) HERECOMESTHERAIN was ridden by Jockey S Moodley (advised 06.01.21/08h25).
