THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUST AS RICH (*C F Dicken) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer S Botha was advised (GT). b) VARATTI (R Munger) reared in the stalls, was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Thereafter this gelding was slow into stride. c) UNPREDICTABLE (C Bantam) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CORAGEOUS CAPTAIN refused to load on transport. Trainer B Webber was advised that should this gelding repeat this behaviour in future, it will be suspended. b) SONNY QUINN (C Zackey) hung out from the 400m and thereafter shifted out sharply away from the crop at the 200m. c) Apprentice J R Syster (LORD AMOUR) accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. d) MEZUZAH (M Yeni) hung in from the 300m. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to JUST AS RICH, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 08.01.21 to the 14.01.21. JUST AS RICH may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer S Botha was advised. f) STORMY SEAS (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
