THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process STARBOARD (G van Niekerk) backed out of the stalls suddenly, threw its head up and struck Jockey G van Niekerk in the face when reacting to GOLLY MISS MOLLY (*L Ferraris) which was restless in the stalls. STARBOARD (G van Niekerk) and GOLLY MISS MOLLY (*L Ferraris) were taken out of the stalls, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race. Jockey G van Niekerk was examined by the paramedics and passed fit to ride. This resulted in a delay. b) OUR WORLD (A Marcus) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) TIME OFF (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. d) DAUGHTER OF ZEUS (S Mbhele) jumped outward, making contact with KATIE TO (R Fourie). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) OUR WORLD (A Marcus) was hanging in in the straight. b) In view of the performance of TIME OFF (G Lerena) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GOLLY MISS MOLLY (*L Ferraris), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding STARBOARD (G van Niekerk), Trainer WA Nel will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) DUPLICITY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (MB) f) STARBOARD, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
