THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL BALLET (R Khathi) was restless in the stalls. b) BITE MY LIP (G Behr) reared in the stalls. c) GOLIGHTLY (S Mbhele) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BILIE JEAN (D Ashby) raced wide without cover on the bend. b) At the 400m, BILLIE JEAN (D Ashby) was carried out marginally when ORANGE BOWL (R Fourie) shifted out and was immediately straightened. Thereafter Jockey Ashby reported this filly was not striding out and did not persevere with his riding. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) IMPERIAL BALLET (R Khathi) was hanging in late. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BITE MY LIP (G Behr), Trainer M Rix will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10 e) In view of the performance of ORANGE BOWL (R Fourie) (Betting 53/20 : Distance 9.00) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) SOVEREIGN ROSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
