THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IRISH MORNING (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls, kicked out and caught its back leg on the running board. It was taken out, examined, passed fit to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) TARANTINO (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockeys G Cheyne and R Fourie, the riders of AL BRAGGA and GIACOMO PUCCINI respectively, reported that their mounts did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. b) In view of the report from the starter regarding IRISH MORNING (K de Melo), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 10/01/2021 to 16/01/2021 inclusive). IRISH MORNING may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer DM Kannemeyer will be advised. c) REAL GONE KID (AUS), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
