THE STARTER REPORTED: a) I'M AL (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded. b) RAISETHEREDLANTERN (S Khumalo) was difficult to load, thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. Trainer C Dawson advised (GT). c) NICALEX (R Simons) was slow into stride. d) HUMBLE TUNE (C Zackey) and COURTNEY LEIGH (*C F Dicken) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, HUMBLE TUNE (C Zackey) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between SLIGHTLY SPANISH (*J Gates) and RAISETHEREDLANTERN (S Khumalo) which shifted out marginally to avoid running onto the heels of EXTRAVERT (S Brown) which had come to the end of its run. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RAISETHEREDLANTERN, this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 11.01.21 to the 17.01.21. RAISETHEREDLANTERN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C Dawson was advised. c) HUMBLE TUNE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Dawson advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) I'M AL was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 10 January 2021 at 13H14). b) EXTRAVERT: Jockey S Brown weighed out at 57,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) RAISETHEREDLANTERN raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 9 January 2021 at 18H22) and with a compression mask (declared 10 January 2021 at 07H30).
