THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LEADING LYRIC (S Randolph) was restless in the stalls and slow into stride. b) GOLDEN AWARD (E Ngwane) and SPICY HOT (R Danielson) were slow into stride. c) TOP HONOURS (C Storey) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) QUENANZA (*J Jacobs) was hanging in from the 450m, proving difficult to assist. b) SPICY HOT (R Danielson) and BELL STARBUSTER (*G Pieterse) were hanging in from the 400m. c) MEGHAN (B Jacobson) was hanging in from the 200m. d) In the concluding stages, TOP HONOURS (C Storey) shifted in when awkwardly placed on the inside of EMPRESS ELLA (A Arries) which shifted in sharply and compounded in the straight. Thereafter, Jockey A Arries reported that he felt something amiss with EMPRESS ELLA (18.15 lengths) in the concluding stages.
