THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TAROCCO (E Ngwane) refused to load and was withdrawn by the Starter. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TAROCCO (E Ngwane), this mare's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.01.21 to the 12.02.21. TAROCCO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer S Ferrie was advised. (SN) b) ASTUTE VISION (A Arries) was hanging in from the 400m. c) At the 150m, BLACK FERRARI (N Patel) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between SARABI (T Godden) which rolled out and PALMHEART (*K Strydom) which rolled in marginally. d) In view of the performance of PALMHEART (*K Strydom) (4.90 lengths, 11/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice T Gumede signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse COLOUR OF LIGHT more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Apprentice T Gumede the Board considered the number of times (13) Apprentice T Gumede struck the horse COLOUR OF LIGHT, the distance over which and manner in which, Apprentice T Gumede used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. f) HER ROYAL MAJESTY (B Jacobson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Y Govender advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MATADORA'S PARADE raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 07.01.21/13h55). b) HELLO TOMORROW raced with a compression mask.
