THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISTER BLUE SKY (R Simons) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GOVERNORS GLORY (C Murray) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. b) WESTMINSTER (P Strydom) over-raced in the early stages, thereafter raced wide around the turn and into the straight and compounded from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) WALTZING AL (*J Solomons) hung out from the 400m. d) Jockey L Hewitson reported that CHARIOT MASTER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) LEAR JET (B Nyawo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee B Mngeni advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MISTER BLUE SKY was ridden by Jockey R Simons (declared 16 January 2021 at 07H02). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MISTER BLUE SKY raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 January 2021 at 07H42). b) CHARIOT MASTER raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 16 January 2021 at 08H13). c) WESTMINSTER raced equipped with blinkers (declared 16 January 2021 at 09H07). d) SMUTS raced with club colours (black and blue). Trainer C Dawson was issued with an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that she did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse SMUTS. Assistant Trainer T van Rensburg signed the Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a warning was imposed. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHARIOT MASTER abnormal respiratory noise. b) WESTMINSTER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
