THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOWN TO EARTH (S Randolph) fly-jumped and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey S Randolph (DOWN TO EARTH) briefly lost his right side stirrup iron leaving the starting stalls. b) At the 400m, SCARLET CHILL (A Arries) shifted in off the heels of DIAMONDSANDPEARLS (D Dillon) which was directed out. c) PREFERENTIAL (T Godden) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) DRAMA QUEEN (*K Strydom) shifted in to continue its run in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performance of IRISH WONDER GIRL (R Danielson) (9.40 lengths, 10/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey D Dillon signed an admission of guilt for contravention of Rule 66.4, in that as the rider of DIAMONDSANDPEARLS, he weighed in more than 1kg above the weight at which he was declared out. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. g) PREFERENTIAL (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (TN).
