THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SO THEY SAY (M Yeni) became restless and reared, breaking open its front gate shortly before the start was effected. A false start was called by the Starter. All the riders reacted to it and pulled up their horses immediately. All runners were examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon when they returned behind the starting stalls, they were all passed fit to race and the loading process could recommence. The starting stall certificate for SO THEY SAY has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (GT).
b) GRACEFUL LASS (R Munger) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
c) LEVECHE (*C F Dicken) was slow into stride.
d) OCEANS PRIDE (S Brown) was slow losing two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) GRACEFUL LASS (R Munger), after being slow away, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout
b) WILLOUWS ROSE (J Greyling) compounded from the 400m.
c) Apprentice C F Dicken reported that LEVECHE (12,60 lengths) changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly
d) The saddle on SO THEY SAY (M Yeni) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon.
e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SO THEY SAY, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a with a companion. Suspension dates: 20.01.21 to the 26.01.21.
SO THEY SAY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised.
f) SO THEY SAY (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, was advised (RH).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) LEVECHE was ridden by Apprentice C F Dicken who claimed a 1,5kg allowance (declared 18 January 2021 at 12H07).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) GAL GADOT raced equipped with alumites (declared 13 January 2021 at 10H45).
b) WEATHER BOMB raced with a tongue tie on (declared 19 January 2021 at 08H12).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) SO THEY SAY abnormal respiratory noise.
b) ZULU WAR CRY injured in the stalls.
c) LEVECHE examined post race, nothing obvious detected.

a) CHLOE GIRL under suspension. Advised 18 January 2021 at 11H30.
b) SHOOROOQ reserve runner. Advised 19 January 2021 at 08H15.
c) DELIGHTFILLY reserve runner. Advised 19 January 2021 at 08H15.
