THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL LILY (C Maujean), WINTERS POWER (*J Solomons) and OKSANA (*C F Dicken) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) OLIVIA S (*J R Syster) hung in from the 600m. b) EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo) shifted both ways from the crop from the 400m. Trainer A G Laird was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to ensure that this filly maintains a straight course in races or she may be suspended. c) OLIVIA S (*J R Syster) hung in throughout. d Apprentice C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with OKSANA in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) EMERALD CREST (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
