THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) TINSELSTRIP (+M Sambu) fly jumped leaving the stalls.
b) STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare) was unruly and stubborn loading.
c) JESSICA JANE (+S Mkhwambi) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride.
d) JUST SO EASY (+S Watson) was nervous and reared in the stalls.
e) FORBIDDEN AFFAIR (+A Gwadiso) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Leaving the 800m STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare) was bumped in by PURE QUALITY (+S Ngqabuko) which was bumped inwards by JUST SO EASY (+S Watson) which was hanging in. As a consequence STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare) was cut into on her left hind.
b) UNTAMED TIGER (+G Shuping) shifted in away from the crop from the 350m.
c) In view of the report from the starter regarding STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 23/01/2021 to 29/01/2021 inclusive). STEPITUPBABY may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) Work Rider S Watson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck JUST SO EASY more than 12 times in the entire race. Work Rider Watson signed an admission of guilt and is suspended for one (1) work riders race.
e) Work Rider M Naki was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck RUSSIAN KNIGHT more than 12 times in the entire race. Work Rider Watson will be issued an admission of guilt and is suspended for one (1) work riders race.
f) TINSELTRIP (+M Sambu) raced detached from the field.
g) UNTAMED TIGER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (PD)
h) PURE QUALITY, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D A McKenzie was advised. (PD)
