THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RAINBOW SPIRIT (J Samuel) was hanging in between the 550m and the 400m. b) THUSVIR (T Godden) was hanging out from the 500m. a) At the 250m, CRESTED EAGLE (D Dillon) which was hanging in from the 700m, had to shift in when awkwardly placed on the heels of EDGARTOWN (A Arries) which rolled out. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider (D Dillon) of the second placed horse (CRESTED EAGLE) against the winner (EDGARTOWN) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board over-ruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board took into consideration the distance between the horses at the finish (0.50 lengths), that there were dual movements between the horses, in this regard, CRESTED EAGLE (D Dillon) itself was hanging in which had contributed to the incident in question and that from the side on angle, EDGARTOWN (A Arries) appeared to always be holding CRESTED EAGLE (D Dillon) to the finish. Consequently, the Board could not be satisfied that but for the above incident, CRESTED EAGLE (D Dillon) would have finished ahead of EDGARTOWN (A Arries). Therefore it over-ruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey D Dillon's deposit was refunded. c) EDGARTOWN (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
