THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WALTERTHEPENNILESS (R Simons) and BOLD MATADOR (J Gates) were slow losing one length. b) TWICE AS SPECIAL (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards and TURF MASTER (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, KOOL BAIKAL (M Yeni), BOLD MATADOR (J Gates) and PICCADILLY SQUARE (M Mjoka) were awkwardly placed between TURF MASTER (C Zackey) which jumped out and TWICE AS SPECIAL (*P Mxoli) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey R Munger was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse FLYING FIRST CLASS more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Munger signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R750. c) BURNT JASPER (*N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (DR).
