THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) Fair start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 200m, SIMPLY RUSSIAN (T Godden) and RETAIL THERAPY (G Wright) were carried in by EIGHTFOLDS LASS (D Dillon) which shifted in for a clear run.
b) In the concluding stages, LADY LEGEND (*K Strydom) was carried in by SONG OF THE FOREST (*J Jacobs) which was hanging in from the 100m, proving difficult to assist.
c) Jockey S Moodley reported that MARMALADE (15.15 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) In view of the performance of MARSANNE (*T Gumede) (2.65 lengths, 13/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SCENT OF EVENING, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this mare is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer W Whitehead was advised. (Suspension Dates : 28.01.21 to the 28.03.21, bdi)
f) EIGHTFOLDS LASS (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Naidoo acting on behalf of Trainer K Naidoo advised (ML).
g) SONG OF THE FOREST (*J Jacobs), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Naidoo acting on behalf of Trainer P B Muscutt advised (DA).
